One pastime I enjoy is looking at people’s houses on real estate sites and judging their choices, so yep, roasting is gonna happen.

Not a huge fan of the fixtures, but I’m really bothered by the recessed lighting. A lot of these homes it feels like anything mounted on the ceiling is invisible so there’s no need to pay any attention to its appearance.

Oh yeah, i do the same thing on home listings, tv shows, actual people’s houses, basically anytime I see a house.

My absolute hugest pet peeve is that people put regular depth fridges in counter-depth enclosures, it infuriates me! People do this with alarming frequency and I hate it so much.

(if you are one of these people, I am not mad at you, just mad that it’s a thing )

So bland wannabe edgy bourgeois eastside style.  Tesla and maybe Audi in the driveway.

Nothing here really bothers me at all except the obnoxiously high ceilings.

Edison bulbs, IMO, should only be used in close quarters, like a small dining room. Not a big, wide open room.

2200k because I like everything ORANGE AF.

Other than the “stripe”, is there something else about that shower that’s off? If I’m honest, I’m actually okay with that .

This is okay, there isn’t a fridge enclosure

And hello back CB!

When people go through the trouble of installing a fridge cabinet, why screw it all up by sticking the fridge waaaay outta there?

I think the shower looks good in general but two things bug me:

Dark trim around the fixed glass panel, but clear rubber on the bottom of the shower door. I don’t know if they make that stuff in other colors, but something closer to the dark color used on the other trim would look better.

Stripe is darker than the shower bottom. I think it would look way better if they were the same color, or something significantly different, it just looks mismatched to me right now.

Otherwise looks pretty sharp.

It’s a bit more than that. With incandescents  practically banned, you don’t have a lot of great options for exposed bulb fixtures. Edisons look better than standard LEDs/compact fluorescents .

My wife made me install some fixtures with Edison bulbs a few years ago, she’s been adding more here and there (I think we’re up to 5 or 6 now) . I hate them. Even the LED ones provide very little and terrible light. Luckily only one is a main fixture in a half bath, the rest are purely decorative.

Also, we need a mater bathroom remodel. Wanna come to Chicago and do it for an Oppo discount????

I’m not crazy about the first light fixture (I HATE Edison bulbs), but the second one is pretty interesting. I like it. And the bathroom looks good!

One of my front motion lights (the one on my garage) isn’t work. Probably just a burned out bulb, but I’m hoping its not. I know I could put a new motion sensor in them, but I’m not gonna tell my wife that and use it as an excuse to put new lights on the front of the house. I don’t know about you, but I hate “lantern style” light where the bulb is suspended.  If I’m getting a lantern style light, at least put the bulb right side up on a base so I can pretend like I have a candle since that’s the whole point of the style. /rant

I like the first one. Are these all in the same house? If so, that’s a bit overwhelming.

Also I’m gonna speak for all the ladies out there (because every woman I’ve lived with has bitched about this insistently): cut a cubbie or make a shelf at “raise my foot while shaving” level in the shower.

As far as I know only available in clear and very rarely white.

Stripe and bottom are cut from the same piece  of channel, unless you’re talking about the schluter vs the track?

I’m talking about the “tub” which is bright white, and the vertical stripe of tiles, which looks to be some sort of off-white/gray.

There’s a big new pile (maybe 3500-4000 sq ft where a 1200 sq ft house one stood) about a block from me that is almost finished, I wonder what kind of lighting is in it. It ha s an extraordinarily boring exterior, even for west Bellevue. Typical contractor rigs parked around it.
